The Stilosa scored below average in its brew control and quality in our metrics for brewing. This was due to the tiny filter baskets and the absence of temperature control. Both of these factors restrict your ability to adjust the extraction. We did however like the fact that it doesn't take long for this machine to preheat and it has an excellent amount of adjustment in the spout's spout's height.
The model also comes with a convenient water reservoir that can hold up to 34 ounces. It comes with an integrated level indicator to let you know when it's time to refill. It's also movable, which is helpful when you need to clean the tank, or when you don't have a sink nearby. Another feature new to this model is a removable drip tray that allows you to put taller cups on the spout.
In our steaming measurements, the Stilosa also came up short. This was due to its insufficient control of the temperature of the steam and the absence of pre-infusion functions. Both of these are standard features in machines that cost much more. Despite these issues we did like the fact that it doesn't require regular maintenance and is backed by a one-year guarantee. For its price and performance, the De'Longhi Stilosa makes a great addition to any coffee bar. It's easier to use than other models we've tested and can save money on cafe drinks.
